Spyware is malicious software (programs that internet marketing and advertising companies surreptitiously install on your computer to collect information about your surfing habits) spyware hogs memory and slows down your surfing because it creates a link between your computer and the spying company's servers. The best anti-spyware program is a free download called Ad-Aware SE www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware this will locate and disable spyware with a few mouse clicks. Ad-Aware displays the spyware it detects on your computer and allows you to decide whether to hit Quarantine and or delete them. I personally use this and have found my computer to do much better after cleaning out the spyware (I do this monthly).
